The Pendulum accepts articles that suggest innovative, progressive ways to improve America. We are looking for submissions from both individuals with significant political experience and those with great passion but little formal training. Whether you have authored op-eds and articles, written on a blog, or simply have passionate conversations, here is what we would ask: develop your idea, tighten up the argument and language, and let us try to give your argument broader circulation.
Our editorial staff is not committed to any particular vision of progressive politics. If the article is well-written and provides insight into an issue or political strategy, we will publish it. We are not looking for blog-style rants or hit-pieces. Nor are we interested in full-length research papers. Submissions should generally be no longer than 3000 words (although we'll try to accommodate longer pieces). We will accept submissions on a rolling basis, although we will consider the pieces submitted first for our first issue. All submissions will be read, and our editorial team will work with the author to get the piece ready for publication.
Please submit your articles by emailing a word document to submissions@pendulumjournal.com. Please include your name, address, phone number, email, current occupation, and previous publications, if any.
