Pulling the national discourse back to the left

The Pendulum is an outlet for fresh insights into why the Democratic Party and the progressive movement generally are falling behind in America—and what can be done about it. We believe that progressive policy and vision should not be driven solely by those entrenched in party politics. Instead we need to draw on the vast wealth of ideas, critical thinking and innovation contained within all sectors of the progressive movement. We are creating an online journal that will publish political commentary about the connection between values and progressive politics, innovative policy ideas, and diverse perspectives on political, electoral, or media strategy. The Pendulum is a forum to work through, flesh out, and debate the various visions and tactics that the progressive movement should employ to pull the national center of gravity back to the left, and how to compete more effectively in the current political environment.
